Egide, which specializes in hermetically sealed packages that protect and allow electronic and photonic chips to interconnect, is proud to announce that it has been chosen to participate in the Anglo-Franco-Swedish SIMCLAIRS (Studies for Integrated Multifunction Compact Lightwave Airborne Radars and Systems) defense program initiated by the European Defense Agency.
Egide, the specialist in hermetic packages dedicated to the protection and the interconnection of critical electronic and optical chips announced today that it has renewed its 2-year agreement with the American company Crane Aerospace & Electronics (formerly known as Interpoint) based in Redmond, Washington.
In his comments on these half-year results, Philippe Brégi declares: This good first half-year is due to growth in our revenue (+ 8% year on year and + 22% compared to the first half year of 2010) and to the successful performance of our production indicators. Operating income of 0.4 million Euros represents 3% of our revenues against - 1% in 2010 (excluding the sale of our Bollène facility)."
The consolidated turnover (non-audited) of Egide group reached 14.2 million Euros in the first half-year 2011, a progression of 22% when compared to the same period in 2010 and 8% compared to the previous half-year.
Egide to exhibit at 49th International Paris Air Show an extensive range of solutions for Aerospace
At the SPIE Defence, Security and Sensing show which is currently held in Orlando from 26 to 28 April 2011, Egide displays its complete range of solutions for infra-red detection.
Commenting on the 2010 results Philippe Bregi states: This return to break-even is due to a strong increase in our 2010 sales, thanks to our position of leader in the telecoms, military and security markets and also in adhering to our industrial and financial objectives. The sale and lease back operation of the Bollene facility yielded sufficient funds to weather the crisis. Reaching break even in the second quarter resulted in a positive Ebitda for the group for the period.
Los Angeles is currently home to the 36th Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Show (OFC). This is one of the most important gatherings of the worlds optical telecommunications industry and where Egide presented for the first time its new package capable of handling 100 Gb/s coherent signals, dedicated to very high speed systems.
The consolidated sales (non audited) for the year 2010 reached 24.7 millions Euros, a strong progression compared to the previous year. For the record, the sales in 2009 included a non-recurrent item in the first half (sale of gold recovered on scrap components).
